Transition to Work (TtW) – Post Placement Support Officer

Play a key role in our team in a purpose driven Not for Profit organisation dedicated to making a positive social and economic difference in our communities.

Location –  Moe, Victoria

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent

About the opportunity:

As a Transition to Work (TtW) Post Placement Support Officer (PPSO) you will coordinate and deliver support to young people’s needs following placement into employment. Working closely with Employment Coaches and Employer Engagement Officers to provide participants and employers with solutions to sustainable employment outcomes including educational attainments.

Being a Post Placement Support Officer involves:

  • Providing mentoring and guidance, motivation and high levels of support to participants
  • Providing quality support that establishes effective relationships with participants, employers and education providers from placement to achievement of outcomes.
  • Early identification of any risks or issues, effective problem solving with participants and employers
  • Liaising effectively with employers and education providers to understand their requirements and foster an environment where open communication is shared regarding a participant’s progress.
  • Monitoring participants’ progress towards achieving the required employment and education outcomes, including reviewing their declared outcome.
  • Flexibility when delivering quality Post Placement Support to participants and employers within their work environment.
  • Ensuring compliance and contractual obligations through maintaining accurate records.

About You:

  • You are passionate about your community and connecting people to opportunities
  • You are results driven but people focused – always
  • You have exceptional and innovative problem solving skills – you like to think outside the box
  • You have well developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, liaise and consult with a wide range of stakeholders as well as facilitate working groups.
  • You understand the local labour market and regional skills shortages.
  • You utilise your professionalism and finely-honed customer service skills when providing support to our customers.
  • You are proficient in computer applications, including Windows and MS office suite.
  • You may have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Employment Services or sales/marketing industries.
  • You hold a current drivers license and are willing to undertake a satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Card as a pre-condition of employment.
